However, according to archeological findings, it is estimated that our culture goes back even further to 6 or 7 million years. Whatever the true date, this culture is one of the oldest. Today our civilisation is in danger of being completely wiped out. We are therefore at a turning point in time. It is very encouraging to see that people are taking action with a genuine fraternal spirit and supporting us at such a crucial moment in history.

The Art’Tibet Association is mobilising to help the Tibetans and support their culture of peace, wisdom and non-violence so vital for humanity.

Free of any political or religious affiliation and respecting the non-sectarian and fundamentally open spirit of Tibetan ethics, the work of the Art’Tibet Association is divided into two main areas:

• Schools : provide for the education, medical and sanitary needs of children.
• Monastries: provide a place of refuge for numerous people and act as centre points for the Tibetan social organisation: enabling them to become self-sufficient and gradually developing full independance.
